A: Unfortunately there is a bug in Apple's PDF generation code for the iPad! Users of other iPad apps like Apple's own Pages, have noticed that they cannot read PDFs exported from those programs. The problem lies in the fact that the generated PDF does not embed fonts.
If you use Mac to view the PDF, use Preview. If you use a Windows PC, use Foxit Reader Free. This should allow you to view the iPad PDF files.
It is also very important to make sure that your desktop computer has the font that you chose in Maxjournal. We have compiled download links for all the free fonts that maxjournal uses: http://www.omaxmedia.com/mj_fonts.html
Check what font you've selected in your journal, and then check that your desktop has the same font. If not, download the font from above and install on your desktop. If you have chosen a font that isn't on the free list, and your desktop doesn't have the font, choose another font!
A: You absolutely must remember your password, as there isn't a mechanism to reset your password! If there was, anybody could reset it and gain access to your personal entries. maxjournal is meant to be secure, so this is the way it must be. We highly recommend you use some sort of password manager (either on iPad or on Desktop) like 1Password.
