Searching in Maxjournal

Maxjournal allows you to Search all of your journal entries for a particular text phrase, Keyword Tags, Rating or by Most Recent. To see more about Tags read Keyword Tagging.

How to Search

Searching is fairly simple. Touch the Search Button in the Top Toolbar to launch the Search window. You may choose search in Text mode, Keyword Mode, Rating Mode or Most Recent.

Searching for Text

Enter your text phrase and press "Search" on your virtual keyboard (or "Return" on your External Keyboard). To Search for multiple phrases separate the phrase with a comma. You will get a list of results. You may select any of the results to go to that day's entry. The search results will stay active until you close the Search window (touch outside the window to close it). You will lose your Search Results when you close the Search window.

Searching for Keyword Tags

To search for a Keyword Tag (or Tags), make sure that Keyword Mode is selected. You will see a list of all Tags used in your journal Selecting a Tag or Tags will search for entries that use that Tag (or Tags). You will get a list of results. If multiple Tags are selected, the list shows results that have ALL of the tags selected. You may select any of the results to go to that day's entry. The search results will stay active until you close the Search window. You will lose your Search Results when you close the Search window.

Searching by Rating

To search for entries with a specific Rating, tap on the Rating Bar at top to select the Rating to search for. Tap the Search Button.

You will get a list of results. You may select any of the results to go to that day's entry. The search results will stay active until you close the Search window (touch outside the window to close it). You will lose your Search Results when you close the Search window.

Searching by Most Recent

Viewing the Most Recent tab will automatically show the last 20 entries that were edited.
